Check the listings for events you are excited about periodically and maybe something will open up.Argentina | Belize | Bermuda | Brazil | El Salvador | Guatemala | Haiti | Jamaica | Mexico | Nicaragua Bolivia Chile Colombia Costa Rica Cuba Dominican Republic Ecuador Guyana Sometimes people will drop tickets for sold out events. My first year I thought that would be rude, then I waited a half hour for a demo to end and then the demo’er went to lunch.
Feel free to ask the person running the demo how much longer until the next demo will start. Most booths have one demo of a game, so you may be waiting for a group to finish up, don’t expect to go to a booth and get a demo immediately. If you are looking to demo a specific game in the dealer hall, get there before the doors open to try to get to the booth first. It’s free to do and you can walk up and play, but will have last pick on what game to play.
In both cases it is something that my group looks back on and still talks about. I’ve played stinkers and games that we’re a blast, but never got released.
People will bring in their unreleased games, and will teach you how to play. Check out the Double Exposure Playtest Hall.
